We’re on for British Car Day!!!
Can you believe it! We’re on for Saturday!!! This is more exciting than the new iPhone! This is our last theme day of the season, then we have a few more Saturdays left in our regular lot before we wrap up for the season. We’ll go as long as we can, but we’re usually done by mid October when we start to see a long string or rain in the forecast. I know, isn’t that every week in Seattle?
After E@RTC, Avants is having a block party in Redmond. We support Avants and think they are doing an amazing job however we can’t put up a direct link or we’re flooded with requests. Go to their site for details. No, we don’t let cars leave early. It makes for a real problem, so please remain until 11, then head out from there. This is important to us because it’s a safety issue.
Today we had another one of those rants from someone who’s upset because his car doesn’t fit our criteria. I’m not going to mention what it is, but it almost shouldn’t matter.
We keep a close eye on what’s popular and what isn’t and we discuss it over the winter months, then update our website accordingly. Sometime we change our minds about some cars, while others, no. A lot depends on what we think is interesting. It’s always with you in mind.
As we’ve said so often, it should be a song, there is no accurate scoring system, there is no clear definition of what’s exotic or even rare, so we make the call and once we make the call, that’s it. No point in arguing as it makes the whole thing unpleasant for everyone. It’s like someone showing up in a thong. It’s just not what we want to see on a Saturday morning.
We try to be nice about it and we’re not saying anything about if we like the car or not. Some of the cars we own ourselves don’t meet our criteria but we don’t get upset about it. We know our show.
Some people can’t get over our point of view. All we can say is no. Even when they get nasty, we don’t stop and say, “Well, okay then.” In fact, it makes us want to ban them. It just makes the whole thing not fun. Like arguing with your ex. We’re doing our best folks!
See you Saturday!
On a sad note, we were sorry to hear about the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. We would have put up a nicer photo, but surprisingly there were few available as stock images. Keep her in your thoughts this British car day. She was a remarkable woman.
