It’s British Car Day this Saturday!

It’s time once again for British Car Day! Yes, this Saturday, September 10 is our annual event where we showcase the best of what the British brought to the automotive world. It’s one of our most popular events. It’s also our last theme event of the season. We still have a few more Saturdays to go with our regular events, but this is our last theme day.

For those of you who are bringing cars from other nationalities, you’re welcome to join us as we will still have room. After three weeks without E@RTC, it should be a busy day so come out and join the fun.

This was always a personal favorite for me because of the variety of cars we get, from beautifully restored Defenders to Rolls Royce and Bentley to those beautiful Jags and classic MGs. They are also some of the nicest people in the automotive world.

You suddenly realize how popular McLaren’s have become in the Pacific Northwest. The McLaren’s will be there in force! Doesn’t that sound like a family? “Hi, we’re the McLaren’s down the street. We brought you a casserole and some chutney…” If you’ve not seen them lately, they have truly upped their game.

Then of course Aston Martin is a favorite, and lets not forget Lotus and TVR, and maybe a Vauxhall… no maybe not.

We had a Vauxhall Victor when I was a kid. It had clear plastic seat covers. You didn’t need seatbelts. Your sticky ass just kept you from sliding anywhere on that thick plastic. Even in a rollover someone needed a spatula to get you out. It was super fun if the car was in the direct sun. Ah yes, I remember the tears after dropping your butt on that molten plastic on that hot tropical Island. As a little kid I thought plastic surgery was what happened after you sat in the car.

We also usually see a Spitfire or two, and wonderful Morgans who knows what else, but it’s always a fun day with lots of smiles from spectators and participants. It’s terrific stuff! Come join the fun!
