Well This Will Be…

Saturday should look something like this.

…an interesting Saturday at E@RTC. We are on for Saturday, July 27, at E@RTC!. This is in our regular lots which are as routine as hearing your mom scream, “Careful, you’ll put a hole in it!”

What will make this Saturday interesting is that we had a special request for a bigger Porsche section because of other activities in the area, so we’re setting aside a lot of space for the Porsche group and hope they all make it out. If you love the brand, you may not want to miss this one. Actually, you shouldn’t miss any now that I think about it. Missing E@RTC is like forgetting to shower, except people will still talk to you.

We’re starting to get a lot of mail about what qualifies for our upcoming Retro Car Day. To begin with, it must be cars that would normally qualify but fit within a date range. We’re celebrating that stretch in time when pop-up headlights were cool. The ones on cars. We always have to explain these things.

Cars that fit the bill include the Ferrari Testarossa, Lambo Countach, DeLorean, Diablo, Porsche 993 Turbos, E34 M5s, Audi Quattros, NSXs, Ferrari F40, and 959. You get the idea. If you still don’t know, write to us after you check our criteria. If it doesn’t normally meet our criteria, then it’s a pass.

As one of our volunteers put it, we’re looking for a splash of Magnum PI meets Gone in 60 Seconds. I would toss in a gallon of Miami Vice on top of it all, especially if you have no idea how to dress. We’ve seen that one outfit too many times anyway.

Shop early for that special outfit. Find pants that fit and aren’t two sizes too small, with you standing there completely unaware that you’re bullfrogging around the show all morning and pictures are making their way online. They don’t make for good photos. Double-check those white pants because you may end up showing a lot more than we want to see, such as that spark plug tat on your ass that you forgot you even have, so add the right undies. If you hear the word “thong” used in sentences a lot, you may want to check yourself.

Also, remember we have our next invisible show on August 17 while so many people are down in Monterey drooling over more cars. We will have nothing to offer. For those of you who have never been to Monterey, what a week! It’s not just one event but many. Tickets are already sold out for some stuff, but others are free, like the car parade in Carmel By the Sea. It’s an incredible place to be and kind of a fun drive down if you’re not going to fly. Talk to any of us if you want to learn more about what it’s like.

We’ll otherwise see you on this glorious Saturday!
