This is our last event…
…of the season everyone. Yup, this is our last Saturday for 2021. It’s time to say our goodbyes, hug, but not to the point where it’s awkward, or memorable in a weird sort of way.
We had a great season and we have a lot of people to thank, especially Redmond Town Center for putting up with us all year. Please shop at RTC!!! There is nothing you can do that’s more helpful to our survival than support them!
Please peruse our volunteer page to see the big cast of characters who got us through this season. Thanks to all of them for the work they do and write something in the comment section as they will deeply appreciate it.
We also thank Redmond Police Department for all their support. They take a lot of crap in the media these days, and this department has been nothing but supportive from our very first season. Let them know you appreciate their service.
Thanks to all of you for coming out and participating as well! As we say every year, it’s a chicken and egg conundrum. We can’t get the cars if spectators don’t come out and spectators won’t come out unless the cars come out, so it takes a real community and you all make it fun, except for that one guy. Thanks to all of you!
It takes a lot of people to make this whole thing work and there are some long hours of dedication by these folks, not just on the day of the show, but behind the scenes as well. The whole thing is sort of like bologna. Sure it tastes good, but nobody wants to know why.
I’ll keep writing all year, as I do every year. This is never the end for me. I keep the blog moving right along and hopefully we will have time to complete the yearbook. It’s always a matter of volunteer bandwidth. We still have those prizes to give out too. We didn’t forget. It’s just the hours to get it done.
We’ll resume again next spring around April 1, assuming we don’t have Ebola or some other damn thing to worry about. We start recruiting volunteers sometime in February so we can get them in shape by April. We teach them how to yell.
Come out, see us all one last time before we sell what we’re driving, get even fatter, and have one more story to tell that you don’t want to hear. Sort of like what goes on in a bologna factory.
See you all soon!
