And… The Hills are…
NOT alive with the sound of music this Saturday. Unfortunately, Mother Nature gave us too good of a start to the season, and Thug Weather Center 1 has us at a 60% chance of rain, so we have to call the show and wait for a sunnier day. Stay tuned, and we will provide an update so you can get your lederhosen and brats ready, and bring us, Thugs, a cold stein.
Speaking of Brats, and I love a tasty brat boiled in beer, then tossed on the grill with some kraut and mustard. Oh yeah! While I appreciate that beautiful end product, I never think of how that delicious sausage is made, and let’s be real, probably a good decision. Much like that delicious brat, the process that goes into putting on a weekly event like ours is more complex than that physics final you still have nightmares about in college.
That complex process has been owned by our dear friend and OG-est of the OG Thugs, co-founder and Fresno enthusiast Tom. Well, Tom has decided to step back and toss the keys to this circus to the next patsy. Seriously, this guy is pretty gullible. We are pretty sure he pays for extended warranties on cars he doesn’t own. You got a bridge? We got a buyer. Just kidding, he has left us in good hands, and we will continue to stay true to our brand and culture that makes us exotics@.
Tom has helped to create, build, and sustain one of the most amazing events and organizations I could have the privilege to attend and be a part of. He helped to create a brand unique to the car community by staying true to the core principle of bringing the most exciting, exotics and amazing people that drive them together for the public to enjoy, supported by people passionate about this vision. I can’t tell you how rewarding it is to see a kid leading their parents around, rattling off stats about the cars and the smile on the parents' face seeing their excitement, and then seeing them get that once-in-a-lifetime pic behind the wheel of a Liquid Carbon GT, Ferrari, or rare classic. We cannot express our gratitude enough to Tom and all he has done to support the volunteers from behind the scenes and in the lot. Please join us in wishing Tom good luck in regaining his sanity and his new venture as the head of the I Love Fresno Committee. Thank you, Tom, and auf Wiedersehen!
We might not be on this week, but look for our next mini-theme in the horseshoe, Rescue Day. We will have specialty first responder vehicles from Search and Rescue and Redmond PD on May 23rd, weather pending.
