How lost is lost?
We are on for Saturday 5/23!!! WE apologize for the rain last weekend, but Mother Nature does not apologize. She does not issue refunds, accept responsibility, or fill out incident reports. So, when she decided to unleash her best “Pacific Northwest monsoon cosplay” on German Day last week, she didn’t even have the decency to send an email. The result: bratwursts were left uncooked, lederhosen left in closets, and steins left empty…. well maybe not the last one. But good news: German Day has been rescheduled for August 8th—presumably a time when Mother Nature will be busy ruining someone else’s event.
We will take advantage of her current good mood and put on what WE think is a pretty amazing mini theme in the horseshoe. Not only will we have our amazing gathering of super cars, we are also going to have some everyday superheroes and their vehicles here for Rescue Day.
We are going to have some of the coolest Search and Rescue Vehicles. Seriously, these are the ones that go where your GPS gives up and just shows a blank screen, rigs that look at steep, muddy, rocky terrain and say, “Is that all you’ve got?”, vehicles with more rope, gear, and tech it makes REI jealous. Redmond PD will be there with some really cool stuff along with the ones you have seen in your rear-view mirror. We are hoping they bring their Mobile Command Unit so we can rename it Thug Command Center and paint it Thug green…just sayin. We even got Redmond FD to be there because, who doesn’t love a big, shiny, loud, Fire Truck capable of spraying more water than your neighbor’s sprinkler on your freshly cleaned ride.
The best part, you will get to interact with the volunteers and professionals ready to talk about how they find people who thought “it’s just a short hike” in February. “How lost is officially lost?” and “What should I pack so you don’t shake your head when you rescue me?” You will also get a chance to ask those burning question like; “Exactly how fast does that speed sign flash before it gives up on you?” “How much does one of these cost?” “Is the siren as loud as it looks?” ---spoiler…yes...yes, it is.
What can I say but we are as excited as your dog is when you get home to put on this mini theme. We are and always have been a community driven event and love that we can bring these amazing individuals and their really cool vehicles together with the community at one of the most exciting gatherings of exotics in the PNW.
