It’s Looking Like One More…
…fantastic Saturday for Exotics at Redmond Town Center! This is more exciting than the Riverdancers checking out of the hotel room above me. For those that write us, even though all the information is on our website, we are on for Saturday, May 2, between 9 and 11 AM in the corner lots over by BJ's.
The mini-theme this Saturday is Skittles colors in the horseshoe. We don't have a type of car as a mini-theme this Saturday, which means it's normal use of the horseshoe except for color, which is not, nor has it ever been, sacred ground. No nun has ever called us to claim they saw the face of Jesus on that spot when it grew watermelons. Trust me, if they did, they would be out slapping us silly. An old nun can easily slap you into better vision if they want. I didn’t need glasses for years.
We actually don't know what it was before the golf course, but we think it was all farm land. Who knows what they actually grew. It could have been spaghetti plants for all we know.
We had a fantastic turnout last week for our first-ever mini-theme in the horseshoe. It was Classic and Collector cars and we may do it one more time before the season is up. We got lots of email from people about the event and now that you can subscribe to the blog on our Contact page, a lot of you are writing us to comment about the events and the blog. It's wonderful to hear from all of you.
We could use your help on some mini-theme ideas. We want it to be something interesting. It could be by color or model. Who knows? We'd just like to see a theme in that spot each week. No, we're not doing a Poo-Bear day, and we all know what that means. You should never Poo-Bear anywhere but your own home.
We have PACCAR coming back this summer and we're just pinning down some dates on that one. That's always a favorite and we'll make it an annual thing from now on. We love to support them any way we can. They have been wonderful to work with all these years.
A few have asked what we think of the sale of Bugatti and it moving outside of Volkswagen AG for good. Porsche had a 45% stake. It went to a PE firm and I can't think of too many products that were coveted and improved in the hands of a PE firm. It's a shame, really. It belongs in the hands of someone who's passionate about cars. These Sunny Jims running the PE firm all look like they fell out of an Abacrombee and Bitch catalog. They all look like Panera Bread interns and we know what happened to that place. They look like the practice pancakes of automotive management. They look like the Chuck-E-Cheese revival team and none of them look at all like they would possibly understand or care about the Bugatti brand. Expect to see the Bugatti brand licensed at a Walmart near you or plastered on some fuzzy slippers or a jockstrap on Amazon for $4.99. Okay, enough about that. Long live Bugatti!
We will see you all this Saturday. This has been the best start of our season in well over a decade if not ever!
