È la Giornata Italiana!!
Saturday, July 11, from 9 to 11 AM, is Italian Car Day
Ciao, Salve e Benvenuti! È la Giornata Italiana!! Lo so, lo so, basta con tutto questo italiano... ma siamo così entusiasti! Whoa! Sorry about that, we are all so excited I slipped into Italian. For those of us who are NOT masters of the romance languages, allow me to translate: Hello, Hi, and Greetings! It’s Italian Day! I know, I know enough with the Italian, but we are so excited! Fairly sure that is what I wrote…but y’all get the point, It’s Italian Day!!! We are on for this Saturday, July 11th, and will have Center Court filled with some of the finest examples of Ferraris, Lambos, Alfas, Classic Fiats, and Maseratis the PNW has to offer. We haven’t hung out with y’all in 2 weeks, and we all get to reunite on Italian Day- exciting, right?!
Italian Day is one of our largest spectator events, and we all know why; it only takes one glance at center court adorned with some of the most stunning examples of beauty the automotive industry has produced to lose your mind and fill your social feed with pics. To help get y’all excited, we are aware of a few cars that will be there (that’s your reward for staying with me this far). We will have a SP3, 1957 212mm, 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale S/N0 00002, 246 Dino, and as you regulars know, there’s a good chance a F40, Enzo, SEMA-built Lambos, Miura, MC20, or Daytona could show up. I can’t tell you how fun it is to see and hear these cars rolling into center court. It gives me chills just thinking about it, or my already “bored” kids need to stop looking in the refrigerator every 5 minutes. I assume they think it’s a magical appliance that will produce something new if they wait 5 minutes.
We hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July and fully recovered from the meat sweats all that awesome BBQing caused. The team at Thug Weather Center 1 has us partly cloudy with a 0% chance of rain this weekend. Sounds like that ancient ritual they saw when they watched The Cabin In The Woods worked! I wonder how they got Sigourney Weaver to show up? I suppose we need to start watching their expense reports a little closer. Speaking of Thug support teams, we now have a Thug Media Center that updates our socials on Insta, Facebook, the blog, and whatever new thing comes out. We have been trying to increase our presence in the social media space and have expanded a little. That means we are welcoming another newish Thug to the family, Evan. He isn’t new to us, helping on and off in the past; however, now that he has been out of college for a few years, his mom finally gave him permission to join. Welcome to Evan, and he is now part of the third parent-child combo of volunteers we have had. We can’t find that lost Springer tape, so we all assume they are related. You’ll see him in the lot hanging with his dad, as well as updating the socials, which are another great place to know if we are on/off and what our mini theme and center court themes are.
We will be there bright and early, getting center court ready. For those of you who are bringing cars, we recommend arriving early (7:30- 8 AM) to get in line to have a chance at center court. We get full pretty fast on theme days, and this one is no exception. We need to have Center court cleared by 11:15, so IF you have a car in Center, we ask that you be at your car and getting ready to leave no later than 11 AM. Besides our center theme, our regular lot will still host the amazing non-theme exotics and classics you all come to see.
Thank you all for your continued support of our events, allowing us to do what we love every Saturday. See y’all this weekend!
