Is it just me or…
Does it seem like the weather is awesome until you have a day or two off? I just got off the Green Phone with our Thug Weather Center 1 team, and it looks like our finicky fiend, sorry, “friend”, Mother Nature has decided to bring the rain this weekend. That’s right folks, we are off this Saturday ☹. That means that we don’t get to hang out with all you amazing people, however, it does give our new Thugs time to finish the book they started. After they completed our version of Squid Games to become a Thug, their therapist recommended they do a “safe” group activity, so they started a book club. Just kidding we would never pay for a therapist, after all, we are a volunteer group. We just had Terry pose as a Dr. and I have to say his advice might be working. It just warms our hearts to see them coloring away the tears and some of them are even starting to talk again. Did I forget to mention it is a coloring book club? In all seriousness, we are excited this year to have added Justin, Robert, James, Brian, Kartik, and Phil to the Thug family. Great group of enthusiasts that share our passion for everything automotive and love wearing neon green.
I hope you made it out last Saturday and got to see all the amazing exotics and “slow” car mini theme in the horseshoe. It was so fun to see all the quirky, iconic “slow” cars that showed up. I mean, where else could you see a beautiful 1st generation Honda 1600 parked nose to tail with an incredible example of a 488 Pista and a “Cowdilac” in the next row. We did let a few fringe cars in based on the theme of the show. These are what we refer to as a “one and done” or “theme only,” and why asking via our email and providing a pic is important so you don’t waste your time or gas to get turned away.
America’s 250th is right around the corner and July 4th happens to land on a Saturday this year. Due to it being a bigger celebration than maybe a normal 4th, we couldn’t decide if we were going to do a show on the 4th or not. It was so hard to decide, we ended up having Amanda and Matt arm wrestle. Amanda won so we are NOT having a show on the 4th. We figured we would be competing with a lot of different events and activities out there not to mention I only need to use 1 hand to count our available volunteers.
We greatly appreciate all of you who got up early and started your trek to our show with your “slow” cars and all of you who came out to see the slow cars, incredible exotics, and classics. We hope you have a fun rainy-day activity planned and will be excited to see you all after the 4th.
