We’re in the Middle of a Streak…

...of nice weather, and it's going to be another wonderful Saturday at Redmond Town Center and yes, we’re on. We're back to our normal lots. We haven't had consistently good weather like this in years! We lucked out in May. We'll see how June goes. It could all change very suddenly. This could be like that perfect new relationship and everything is going fine until your exciting new partner’s on the roof with underwear on their head with no clue how it happened. So, we're cautious. It was all going so well until that moment during your nice romantic dinner when the subject of their “personal rap sheet” suddenly came up.

We had a really great German Car Day and another fantastic turnout. We had a few incredible surprises, just as we do all season.

We did have one dude who thought the rules didn't apply to him. I could write a lot on the topic of character, but we'll post the photos instead. This individual is not welcome back to E@RTC, ever. That is a notice on the window from Redmond Town Center BTW. They aren’t happy either.

I'm not going to say much more, and I'll let you all flame them on other social media. I hate to stereotype, but… Someone is a candidate for the cover of Word of Wanker magazine.

Speaking of rules, banning, narcissism, and the self-absorbed, there is nothing we hate more than having to ban someone. It's unfortunate because people want to see these cars, but there's this thing called adulting, accountability, and good character that matters to us and everyone involved. We want you all to take pride in this local event, and we're not going to let anyone ruin it for us. Once you're banned, that's it. You might as well move to Fresno and farm radishes or something.

We've had a few others who raced up Bear Creek and won't be allowed back. We'll surprise them at the gate when they try to return. We've now become proficient at recording who's banned and why.

We do our best to help others get a car show off the ground, but too often organizers and participants forget how poor behavior is perceived by the general public, making it tough to last. Who ever thought there would be a market niche for printing signs that say, "No Car Shows"?

We also have a wonderful relationship with the city of Redmond, and we want to keep it that way. As I write this, I feel like a dad, politely asking you to not lick the light socket.

We did have someone try to claim that they were banned for leaving early as a way to show off as if it’s a badge of honor. No, we don't ban you for leaving early, unless you do it without an escort, but we do remember who you are. Unless you informed us ahead of time, and we already positioned you at the far end, we will continue to place you there for safety concerns. Do it often enough, and we won't let you in again. Stick around for the two hours. It's not as if we're asking you to pierce your nipple to participate.

So, you may have seen that on June 17, Paccar is celebrating their 100-year anniversary with us by bringing two amazing examples of their trucks, painted to celebrate those 100 years. It's posted on our Special Events page. We've hosted them before, and it's wonderful to see these machines up close. See you all on Saturday!
