This Could Be…

A Wonderful British Car Day!

…the last Saturday of E@RTC for 2025, for all we know. The weather could improve for next week, so we’ll hold out on that call as long as we can. We’re in our usual lots this Saturday, September 27, from 9–11. The weather is looking good, and people often bring out stuff they didn’t get to show earlier in the season. We always get those last-minute surprises, sort of like your ex showing up at your door in the middle of the night but without the yelling.

We had a fantastic turnout for British Car Day, and as usual, the British car owners were wonderful, and everyone had a great time. It was nice to see that many spectators who love to see these cars and are just as enthusiastic as the participants. As owners, we sometimes forget just how special these cars are to other people who dream of someday owning the same thing. I can’t begin to measure what it does for those who love cars, so we’re very grateful when you come join us, and you all get to meet up.

Years ago, a mother chased me down with her son crying in the car because he was afraid if he lost her, he’d never see the car again. I just happened to stop so she could talk to me, and he got to see the car both outside and in. It was a reminder of just how powerful this event is to some people.

We would still love to hear your feedback about what we can do to improve E@RTC, so please write us on our Contact page. Everything you write we share with the other volunteers, and it’s important feedback. We’re getting a lot of suggestions, and we’ll summarize them in an upcoming blog. We want to make sure we always meet your expectations, and you’re the ones who help preserve our brand.

Once we’re done for the season, everyone starts spending their weekends at Costco, loading up for winter like you’re about to go explore the Yukon. The car goes away, the battery tender goes on, and those ball-walker shorts you wore all summer finally hit the wash. Before you know it, it’s Christmas, Thanksgiving, and a few more pounds, and we see a fatter you in spring. We’re all getting older too. We looked like such kids when we started this thing. Most of us looked like we fell out of a skate park compared to how we look today. It’s going to get worse, so get that picture of you now rather than in the spring when we can see the loosening belt marks. See you all Saturday!
