Saturday we Welcome Turn 10 for their 20th!
This is the Saturday a lot of you have been excited about. We welcome Microsoft’s Turn 10 Studios to E@RTC, who are celebrating twenty years of the Forza franchise. I feel lucky because two of my former cars are in the games, along with so many other E@RTC participants who will put their iconic cars in the horseshoe that day. This is something you won’t want to miss. You will see some very special cars on Saturday! How about an Enzo?
Someone wrote me and asked, “Hey Chemo-Sabe, where does the event take place?” It’s in our regular lots. This is not a center court event, so don’t go there and mope.
We have no idea who originally named the “horseshoe” at our lot. The term has been used for such a long time, but we know it was several seasons after we were using the other lots and had to distinguish the lot somehow—other than calling it “the one on the left.” We began in the horseshoe before it was called anything. It was just the corner lot. It takes a while to develop a good nickname. Sort of like “Rug Burn.” Lalalala… we don’t want to know how you got that name, but we can guess. Note: if someone calls you Skid Mark, it’s probably not because you’re a good driver.
The other lots don’t have nicknames for some reason, but that’s okay. Lot 9 is in Moclips, so if you’re sent there, it’s not a good thing. Ever. If you hear us call out Lot 9 with someone, it means they were led out of the event and they didn’t know it. We just open the cones and direct them out before they can say “chicken dinner.” We think it’s funny and it makes a good point.
You may have noticed, but we are back to moving the cars around from numbered section to section. I don’t know why we ever stopped, as it’s kind of an important thing. It’s like rotating merchandise, and it gives the place a whole new groovy vibe.
We once had a guy with an older silver S-Class V12 go into a rage because we parked him in Lot 2. He felt it had different status, and we argued it didn’t. He said the horseshoe sat higher than the other lots. We need to get a laser pointer to see if it’s true, but we doubt it. We’ve never seen the cows go there on hot days. (farm humor) He never did come back and is probably still mad about it. Some have amazing egos when it comes to this stuff.
It’s just a parking lot, people. Come join the fun. It’s Forza Day!!!
