We’re Getting Closer…
…to kicking off our opening day. Keep an eye on our weather updates…see whether there is weather.
Every year, just before we start, we’re overwhelmed with email asking lots of questions. Almost all are already on our FAQs. Just car qualification questions alone were running at over thirty a day this week! Of those, about 80% were already answered on our website, but people will still try and talk us into changing our minds about something, just for them. We ask that you refrain from that. How’s that for polite?
We also get questions about facts, dates and times, that are clearly on our website. We even make the rules fun to read so they are not so dull. Yet, people still go to the email, fill out a contact form when it’s all there with far less effort. It’s all on the site so just feel around like you did on your first date.
We will likely have mask rules…
…so next week, assuming the weather improves, you’ve got to mask up on property so bring one. We will get exact COVID clarification as we move into next week. Masks will be especially hard for us volunteers because we do a lot of yelling, and that’s before we even start! The masks will keep some from running in fear, so there is some good.
We have a lot of newbies this year and it’s of critical importance that if you’re one of them, that you follow our rules and we do enforce them like an angry Catholic nun with a yard stick. It’s perfectly okay to tell us you’re new. We welcome you, and we’ll make it easy.
After that moron in the Hellcat at that, “Cars and Coffee” you saw on YouTube, you see why we’re NOT nor will we ever be a “Cars and Coffee” event. No matter what, those childish, self-absorbed narcissists who want to show off ruin it for everyone. That behavior is about as welcome as missing that last step while carrying soup.
They don’t think rules every apply to them and so we do ban for life because we don’t want the liability these individuals bring to an event. Ever! We want to keep this thing going for generations to come, so please encourage others to behave and if they can’t, tell them it’s canceled or something. It will be our secret.
Don’t forget the entrance directions, same as our prior two years. We will send you around the block if try and cut in. Let’s just hope we have good weather. See you all next week!
