It Looks Like One More…
…great Saturday! It’s amazing how every season seems to even out, but this year, even if we ran into November, we’d still be a bit short on decent Saturdays. Yes, we’re on for Saturday October 15. We’ll end at eighteen or nineteen rather than our average twenty to twenty-two events for the year.
You’ve all made us more popular than ever. Even our web traffic is up 20% over last year all because of you coming in and poking around. You read the blog! It’s up too!
A lot of you are writing and asking when our season ends. It depends on a few factors. The first is weather and when it goes south, your participation, and when it goes south, and when our volunteers get sick of each other, and they go south. It’s a balancing thing. Some of you go south for the winter like migrating geese, except you don’t stop to poop on someone’s lawn.
Some of you will head far south and winter in Florida along with the leathery blue hairs from Jersey sipping fruity drinks. You’ll also see more camel toe than Lawrence of Arabia, but it’s still a nice place to go. Some head to Hawaii, while most of you will just hunker down right here and pout. Get out and do something! Washington State has some of the best drives in the US, so go do it before the passes close and all you can do is drive south, or north if you want to deal with the border.
This has been the nicest October we’ve ever had since we began and soon it will be the Christmas shopping season. Don’t forget to shop here at Redmond Town Center. They supported us, so please come and support them. All of the store managers have been wonderful.
We will call our last day of the season fairly soon, that we’re done for the year. For those of you from Fresno, it means we stop. We’ll see how Saturday goes and how things are looking. I know some of you are dying to rake.
I’m writing on Substack about business and entrepreneurship, which isn’t a very funny topic. I’m there if you’re looking for something to do.
I’ll still keep writing the blog throughout the winter, but I’ll miss a few days here and there. I’m going to travel a bit, then after the holidays, it’s the big Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Except this year it won’t be so big. COVID has changed some things and I don’t think they will be back. Travel is just one. Hotels are not booked up like they usually are. People are also tired of hearing about autonomous cars that never seem to materialize as they learn how hard it is to solve that problem. I’ll write about what I find.
We will otherwise see you all on Saturday!!!
