Ich wünsche Ihnen einen schönen Tag!
Saturday, August 8th, we are on! 9AM to 11AM (Drivers gates open at 7:30AM)
Ganz genau, Leute, es ist endlich soweit!! Der einzig wahre Deutsche Tag!!! Mit besonderen Gästen im Hufeisen-PACCAR! Ahh, sorry y’all did it again. Got so excited it is finally German Day with our special guests in the horseshoe PACCAR, that I just slipped into another language. Perhaps I should see a doctor about that, and that bread smell I keep smelling. Not your concern. The only thing you need to worry about this week is how you are getting to our big double feature. With the tight schedule we have in August, we figured why not, and we went big. When I say “went big”, I mean that quite literally. We are going to have some big rigs from PACCAR in the horseshoe with the latest tech and creature features you can get with 18 wheels. Well, technically 10 without the trailer. We have some engineer types within our ranks, and they get a little picky with numbers. I heard a rumor they may also bring out one of their classic rigs with the old school gearbox. The amazing people from PACCAR will be on hand to answer all your questions, and they may even let you fulfill that childhood dream and get a pic behind the wheel. After the “incident” last year, yours truly isn’t allowed behind the wheel. In my defense, it isn’t like you can hear an electric vehicle running...just saying.
That covers the horseshoe; now on to Center Court and 164th.
That’s right, like I said before, it is finally German Day!! About time, right?! Mother Nature looks like she is holding on to her promise this weekend. Just in case, the Thug Weather Center 1 team is currently conducting some ancient rituals they learned from this really nice, but slightly creepy, old lady that shares the cave...I mean “business park” with the Weather Center. We have faith this extra step should ensure we are on.
We have had a ton of interest, and we very much appreciate all y’all reaching out via email to check that you are good to go on the day's criteria and letting us know you are bringing something special. We happen to know there will be a ChromeaFlair adorned 992 GTS GT3 RS in Center. A beautiful Shore Blue 911 S/T, a Bahama Yellow 69 911T that is a current group favorite air-cooled Porsche. Speaking of air-cooled, we know there will be 21 window buses and beetles on hand to offset the luxury and speed of all the amazing Mercedes, BMWs, and Audis we expect to see.
Unfortunately, we do have haze in the area due to the devastating wildfires across our state, our neighboring states, and Canada. We have been asked if we were going to cancel due to air quality concerns, and the simple answer to that is “no”. Currently, it looks like the marine air is supposed to start pushing out the smoke on Friday, and hopefully Saturday is a good day on the AQI (Air Quality Index).
We have a special guest for all our regulars at the gate. I am sure many of you will be happy to see their chiseled good looks greeting you. I guess that makes it a triple feature day for some of you. Gates for drivers open at 7:30 AM and close at 9:30 AM. It is a big theme day; we recommend getting in line between 7:30 and 8:30 for that shot at Center Court and 164th. Once we fill up in Center and 164th, we have overflow in the normal lot as well. The regular lot will host the non-themed exotics and classics that you expect to see, and also where PACCAR will be in the horseshoe. One last reminder, IF you are in Center or on 164th, we cannot accommodate an early exit due to pedestrian safety concerns, and we have to have Center Court cleared by 11:15, so please be ready to exit by no later than 11 AM.
Excited to see y’all there!
