It’s Going to Be a Nice Saturday!
We had a great Saturday last week with a very nice turnout of both participants and spectators. We had no bad behavior from anyone and everyone cheered and danced the limbo. Some anorexic from Port of Spain, Trinidad won. Not really, but almost. The weather was perfect, the people were nice and I got to see a lot of old friends who I’ve missed on recent Saturdays. We all thought about how old we all look now, but nobody said anything.
On hot days you may see an unsightly thong or two, but some men just don’t know how to dress. It does sort of burn a hole in your brain that takes a while to heal when you see one.
This Saturday will be one of are warmest, so it’s a good one to come out and see exactly which cars don’t have heaters. This is when they come out because the early morning temp will already be 71. By the time everyone leaves it will be in the low 80s, so it will be an especially nice E@RTC.
For those of you who show up extra early, we let the volunteers park first because once we’re parking cars, we’re really moving. It takes us a while to get set up, all the signs placed and have that morning meeting. It’s a busy time for us. We are going to be moving the lots around to keep any place from becoming “sacred ground” it’s asphalt people. Jesus had nothing to do with it and he didn’t drive a Ferrari.
One of the most gratifying parts of E@RTC is how happy it makes people when you come out with your exotic and rare cars. They deeply appreciate what you bring and they let us know. For many, this is the first time they have ever seen these cars up close and we draw real enthusiasts who would love to someday own what you drive. They could be a Prius owner wishing to reform.
Don’t forget the Archer Hotel now serves breakfast so it’s something to do after you park. The Pancake House is also good. I don’t know how “original” it is, the mall hasn’t been there that long, but the pancakes are good. I recommend the toasted coconut.
See you Saturday!
