We’re so excited to say that...

…we’re finally on for our earliest opening day in many years. For those finding this all so confusing, we were delayed a week. To make it less confusing, this means we open on Saturday, April 13th! This is more exciting than seeing your parents naked in the kitchen and just as festive. Details are on our About page.

As you may know, Opening Day has to be perfect and it looks like we will get one. It can’t be near the margin and on our forecast decision day, well, that’s how it looks, like the perfect day to kick things off.

Our biggest worry on opening day is the behavior of some drivers who have a lot of difficulty with their egos and self-control. They probably can’t get a date either but we all know why. We can't call them "owners" because some are borrowed cars. Redmond PD has given us two police officers for the event, and we can't thank them enough for that. We hope these drivers see a different set of handcuffs than the ones they used in bed that they stole from their own moms. I wonder why she has six pair?

Over the years, Redmond PD has been extremely helpful and right there with us, and some have even volunteered. Thanks, Cameron and (Matt, who's now down in Florida.) We love it when they show up, and even more when they bring a car to display. Patrol cars always get the most questions. Some of you never want to see one up close and have no idea what's in them, sort of like fruitcake. Others have bad memories from that toga party that went sideways in college.

Redmond PD has always been an outstanding police department. I lived in Redmond for a long time and always thought they were a great community police force, made up of people who cared a lot about the quality of life here. I think that's the case with almost all police departments, but Redmond PD very good.

Some of you have asked why we do a permanent ban and not just a few Saturdays' time-out when we get bad behavior. The reason is that over the years, those who behave badly just keep doing it. There's something within their level of maturity that makes it impossible for them to act like a normal adult. They are destined to remain window-lickers the rest of their lives. So, it's best to get them away from the show, so we can keep it going without having to deal with them again.

We are going to be doing more shout-outs to the other volunteers, but we're trying to get all the bios up on the volunteer page first. They are such an amazing bunch, and we think you should know about all of them. Hope to see you all Saturday!
