OMG! It’s German Car Day…and the weather…
…looks like it will hold. We ask that you all hold perfectly still between now and Saturday so we don’t scare off the good weather. This will be our annual German Car Day on May 21st, and the first of our theme days this year. It also means we open RTC Center Strip. Should you all not hold still, and the rain shows up, we will delay German Car Day and post a new date for sometime this summer. Meanwhile, hold still. I mean it!
German Car Day brings out some amazing stuff. Sure, we get some authentic German grumpy folks now and then, but overall it’s always a fun day with some very special cars. Even the grumpy purists are sometimes fun to rile up. Say Porsche with one syllable and you’re likely to send some into high blood pressure territory where they monkey-stomp as they correct you. Especially if there isn’t enough emphasis on the second syllable. We did have someone actually get upset about it one year. It was all sort of fun.
It’s a good one to wear your lederhosen you’ve been dying to wear since you woke up on a Leavenworth roof wearing nothing but that. You didn’t even own lederhosen! But, now that you have a pair, it’s a good day for it.
After E@RTC, you can take a run to Leavenworth in your lederhosen and have a brat to celebrate a good day. They do have good brats!
For those new who don’t know how we do things, we emphasize theme days. We park those who we think are great German examples in the center strip, and along the side street and the main lot. ALL car nationalities are welcome in the main lot, which is always the case, but we still have to say it. It’s just that those from Germany get special treatment. If you don’t know if your car is qualified, just write us and we’ll get you an answer as soon as we can.
We expect another long line and we’ll get you parked as fast as we can. RTC center strip is always a bit of a puzzle, but we’ll get you landed faster than a plane full of IBS conventioneers.
Now, don’t get all spoiled because we had two Saturdays in a row using RTC’s center strip. We go back to our routine of the South East corner of Redmond Town Center as soon as we get our normal nice Saturdays. See you Saturday…unless the weather changes…because you moved around.
